In the Windows XP system, when you want to display your image collections, you can use Windows Explorer as image viewer using “Thumbnail View” option. This facility is used so that you don’t need to use a mouse as much as possible. Unfortunately, when you use “Thumbnail View” function to open your picture, your system always creates a file called “Thumbs.db” on its directory. Actually, this file is only cache file that is stored inside your image directory. But, if you want to remove that file, just follow these steps. First, open your Windows Explorer and click “Folder Options” under “Tools” menu. Navigate to the “View” tab. On the “Files and Folder” section, give a check on the “Do not cache Tumbnails” option. Finaly, click OK to save all of your changing. With this way, your system will not create a “Thumbs.db” file again while you open an image.
